OUTREACH ACTIVITIES
Yildirim-Ayan Laboratory has been actively involving and creating OUTREACH ACTIVITIES for pre-college students from under-represented groups in STEM field. Our core mission in these outreach activities is to educate and to train the next generation of engineering workforce from pre-college level, in the comprehensive field of musculoskeletal tissue engineering and biomanufacturing.
Since 2011, the EBSL team has been involving EXCELing into Engineering Program which targets to increase minority students’ self-esteem in involving science and enthusiasm in science. Every year, EBSL hosts around 60 pre-college students for three days, to demonstrate the research activities on musculoskeletal tissue engineering and cancer cell-musculoskeletal tissue interaction.
